Discover the Gorge of Imbros which is the second most popular gorge for walkers in Crete after the gorge of Samaria. The main reasons for this is that it is much easier to walk than Samaria. Secondly, the gorge of Imbros is easier to access and despite being much smaller in size than Samaria, there are some many spectacular sections.
Imbros Gorge is with the length of 8 km the second longest gorge on our island. It runs almost parallel to the gorge of Samaria. Although not as well-known as the famous Samaria Gorge, it is a real natural beauty, especially interesting because of its amazing lush vegetation.
Many Cretan endemic plants and flowers are at home there. It requires the most hikers approximately 3 hours of a relative easy walk. You need comfortable strong shoes or trainers.
Afterwards our bus will takes us to Frangokastello or to Chora Sfakion where we can swim or enjoy a meal at the local taverns.
Duration:
From Rethymno: 9 hours.
From Heraklion: 11 hours.
From Chania: 8 hours.
