Husky and Reindeer Experience
This program is a perfect alternative for those who wish to see the arctic animals without spending extensive amounts of time outdoors, in the snow and frost. Your day will start with our guide picking you upin Rovaniemi.
You will be driving to the reindeer farm, where local reindeer herders will tell you more about the herding lifestyle and how it is to be a reindeer herder in the 21st century. After insightful instructions given by the herders, you will be able to drive your own reindeer sledge in a brief, 500 meters, ride. Your newly obtained skills will be rewarded with a Reindeer sledge driver's license!
When visiting the Husky Park, you will be accompanied by the husky mushers, who will tell you more about living and working together with always happy and energetic Siberian husky dogs. You will have free time to interact with the friendly dogs. Moreover, the mushers will happily take you on a brief, yet extremely thrilling, husky short sledge ride (500 meters). Salmon soup lunch will be served during your visit to the farms. (not included)
Throughout the program, the guide will be by your side to assist you with every step of the activity and make sure you are enjoying yourself fully.
If you decide to be picked up at our office in Santa Village, you will also have free time to cross the magical Arctic Circle and visit the Santa Claus Village with your family or friends. There are many souvenir shops as well as Santa’s Main Post Office, service companies and cafes and restaurants in the Santa Claus Village. And of course, Santa is there too, in his chamber every day of the year. You can pay him a visit!
Your day will conclude with your guide driving you back to Rovaniemi.
Important information - There may be restrictions
Children 5-12 years can try mini-snowmobiling for 10 minutes on the private track.
Children and adults without valid driver's licenses can join the safari comfortably seated on a sledge behind the snowmobile.
