Kintsugi Experience

Welcome to Kintsugi: The Art of Embracing Imperfection. In this one hour class, we will explore the Japanese technique of Kintsugi, a captivating art form that transforms broken ceramic objects into revitalized art pieces.

Through this ancient practice, we will discover the profound philosophy of the Japanese people, who value their belongings and embrace imperfections as a part of life's journey. So let's delve into the world of Kintsugi and learn how to create beauty from brokenness.

In this workshop, thin lines are sharpened to match the cracks using the original Kintsugi method developed by Taku Nakano (Kintsugi is generally done by painting with a brush and sprinkling gold) and then dyed with gold. Even a beginner can make thin and beautiful Kintsugi in a short time.

Get ready for an amazing experience with Kintsugi! We'll start with an introduction and factory tour (10 minutes), then move on to a demonstration (10 minutes). Next, you'll get to participate in a repair experience (40 minutes) and finally, we'll clean up (5 minutes).
