If the balance isn't paid on time, your booking will be cancelled and your deposit will not be refunded, so it's worth setting a reminder.
Yes, all bookings are subject to a 1% booking fee, which will be reflected in your invoice.
Once your confirmation invoice is issued, the price is largely fixed. For package holidays, small variations (such as exchange rate fluctuations or fuel surcharges) may apply, though minor changes are typically absorbed by us. If a price increase exceeds 10% of your invoice total, you have the right to cancel and receive a full refund.
Travel documents are issued electronically once we've received full payment.
Yes, where possible. You'll need to confirm changes in writing, and an amendment fee of £35 per booking applies, plus any costs passed on by suppliers. Some tickets (such as Apex fares) may not be amendable at all, and changes to these can incur charges of up to 100%.
For package holidays, yes. You can transfer your booking to someone else, subject to an administration charge of £100 per person, and provided the new traveller meets all the same requirements as you did.
You can cancel at any time by writing to us. Because we incur costs as soon as you cancel, your deposit is non-refundable, and further charges may apply depending on how close to departure you cancel.
| Notice given before departure | Charge |
|---|---|
| More than 28 days | Deposit only |
| 28–7 days | 60% of total cost, or deposit, whichever is higher |
| Less than 7 days | 100% of total cost |
If your reason for cancelling is covered by your travel insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these charges through your insurer, not through us directly.
Most discounted airline tickets carry a 100% cancellation charge. Where a ticket does have refund value, return it to us and we'll process this with the airline, though refunds typically take 8–12 weeks.
In rare cases, yes, for example if a holiday doesn't reach its minimum number of travellers. We won't cancel within 8 weeks of departure except for reasons beyond our control (force majeure) or non-payment. If we do cancel, you'll be offered an alternative or a full refund.
This covers unforeseeable events outside our control, such as war, natural disasters, industrial action, terrorism, or extreme weather. We're not liable for compensation in these circumstances, though we'll always try to keep you informed.
For package holidays, yes, on a sliding scale depending on how close to departure the change is made, ranging from no compensation (more than 56 days' notice) to £40 per person (less than 15 days' notice). This doesn't prevent you claiming more if you're entitled to.
Many of our flight and flight-inclusive holidays are protected under the ATOL scheme (ATOL number 12175). If your booking qualifies, you'll receive an ATOL Certificate confirming exactly what's covered.
If we, or a relevant supplier, become insolvent, an alternative ATOL holder may step in to provide your holiday, or you may be entitled to claim under the ATOL scheme. Full details are available at atol.org.uk.
Not necessarily. For example, if you're issued a confirmed airline ticket immediately on payment, this is treated as an Airline Ticket Agent sale and isn't ATOL protected, since you already hold a valid travel document. Always ask us to confirm what protection applies to your specific booking.
This depends on your destination. You're responsible for ensuring you have a valid passport (many countries require at least 6 months' validity beyond your stay), any necessary visas, and meeting health requirements. We'd recommend checking gov.uk or the relevant embassy well in advance.
Fairdeal Travel cannot accept responsibility for travellers who don't hold the correct documentation. Any cost, loss, or disruption resulting from this is your responsibility, so please check requirements early.
We strongly recommend it for every trip, covering your whole journey from departure to return.
Departure and arrival times are estimates provided by airlines and can shift due to air traffic control, weather, or operational issues. We'll notify you of any changes we're made aware of, but you should also reconfirm flights and check in online directly with the airline.
Not necessarily. A direct flight may still include stops, it simply means you won't need to change aircraft.
Yes, we'll pass these on to the relevant supplier, but we can't guarantee they'll be met, as fulfilment is at the supplier's discretion.
Speak to the relevant supplier (hotel, airline, tour operator) immediately so they have the chance to put things right. If the issue isn't resolved, contact us straight away on +44 208 5711 222.
Write to us within 28 days of your return, including your booking reference and full details. This helps us investigate properly, delays in reporting may affect your right to compensation.
Suppliers (airlines, hotels, car hire companies) operate under their own terms and conditions, which may limit their liability. We're still your first point of contact if a complaint can't be resolved locally.
