Discover Himeji Castle and Historic Town - Half-Day Cycling Tour

Discover the magnificent Himeji Castle and its charming historic town on this unforgettable half-day cycling adventure. You'll explore a World Heritage Site, sample traditional sweets, and discover hidden views, all with the insight of a local guide.

After meeting at Himeji Station and collecting our bikes, we'll head straight into the castle town. Our first stop is a historic Japanese sweets shop over 300 years old, where you'll sample Tamatsubaki, a refined confection once served to feudal lords.

Next, we explore the breathtaking Himeji Castle, known as the "White Egret Castle." Your local guide will reveal the secrets behind its legendary impregnable design, showcasing its ingenious architecture, historical exhibits, and explaining why it’s celebrated worldwide for its beauty and wisdom.

After ascending to the castle's summit to admire the spectacular cityscape, we'll cycle through the surrounding historic town. We'll stop to savor a traditional Japanese lunch at a local-favorite restaurant. Following lunch, we cycle to a nearby shrine that offers a picturesque, insider spot for capturing beautiful photographs of Himeji Castle.

Our journey concludes with a final scenic cycle around the castle grounds to the stunning Kokoen Garden. This meticulously designed Daimyo (feudal lord) garden features beautiful flora, tranquil ponds, and a calming waterfall. Take a moment to relax and enjoy a leisurely cup of tea at the garden café before we cycle back to the station.

Get ready to explore Himeji's history, beauty, and local flavors by bike!

Important information:

Vegetarians should be aware that the lunch options and quantities are limited. Please note that this must be requested a minimum of two days in advance to allow sufficient time for us to make the necessary arrangements. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate gluten-free requests for this tour.
