Be transported back in time to Austria’s imperial age when the Habsburg dynasty ruled their empire from Vienna. These years coincided with a cultural boom for the country with Mozart composing his masterpieces and spectacular palaces being built.
A favored summer residence of many Habsburg rulers, Schönbrunn is officially the most visited tourist attraction in Vienna, and in imperial times the palace was the setting for sumptuous festivities with musical performances from some of the greatest musicians the world has ever seen. Indeed the famous musical duel between Mozart and Salieri took place during one of these concerts.
The dinner takes place at 6:30pm at the Café Restaurant Gerstner which is close to the Schönbrunn Palace (drinks not included during dinner).
After the 3-course dinner, the guests walk to the Orangery to enjoy the highlight of the evening: the Schönbrunn Palace Concerts.
Depending on the day, concerts may take place in the Great Gallery or the White Gold Room located inside Schönbrunn Palace. Here you will take your seat and be waiting in anticipation for the concert to begin. Admire the Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra, singers as you are entertained by a marvellous performance that will include Mozart and Strauss’s most famous compositions.
As with most of Vienna's historic concert venues, seats are not numbered. The evening staff will be responsible for seating you according to your category. If you have made a group booking, you will be seated together. Please note that the admission starts 30 minutes before the concert. We kindly request you to be punctual.
Your 3-course typical Austrian Dinner will take place in the Café Restaurant Gerstner.
Combine two divine experiences: exclusive culinary art and world-famous music. At the Café Restaurant Gerstner inside the grounds of the Schönbrunn Palace, you will be served a typical Viennese dinner at 6:30pm. For dinner we are serving semolina dumpling soup, followed by roast beef with braised potatoes on the side and for dessert there would be apple strudel. (We are happy to offer a vegetarian menu on prior request.)
After dinner head to the Schönbrunn Orangery, one of the few original locations where Mozart himself performed, and settle in as the Schönbrunn Palace Orchestra presents the masterpieces of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Strauss together with international opera singers. Listen to some of the most marvellous overtures, arias and duets from the operas of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, including Le Nozze di Figaro, Die Zauberflöte, and Don Giovanni to name a few.
In the second half of the concert, enjoy the most popular operetta arias, waltzes and polkas of Johann Strauss, such as Die Fledermaus and Der Zigeunerbaron, as well as Donauwalzer and the famous Radetzkymarsch.
