See the ancient Greek temple of the Parthenon, which is dedicated to Athena, the goddess of war, as well as Propylaea, the temple of Athena Nike, Erecheion and Herodes Atticus from the top.
Marvel at the Parthenon and its amazing views at your own pace on this solo exploration of the very cradle of Western civilisation. Towering over the capital, the Acropolis is a very impressive sight, and walking around on its grounds gives the visitor a feeling of awe and a true sense of the greatness of the ancient Greeks.
Plaka is Athens’ Old Town. The area extends beneath the Acropolis Hill and is home to many important archaeological monuments, such as the Roman Agora and Hadrian’s Library, both of which can be admired from the outside without the need to enter. It also features historic buildings, including the first university and the Madrasa Gate, each with a rich history. In addition, the architecture of the area is distinctive and traditional, making Plaka one of the most picturesque neighbourhoods in Athens. Its narrow alleys, bougainvillea-covered buildings, and pedestrian streets create a charming atmosphere. It’s a really pleasant walk and a wonderful way to experience the character of the city.
