Day 1| Welcome to Rome

Welcome to Rome!. Get the ball rolling by checking into your hotel, and then take some time to relax and settle in. You'll have the whole day to explore the Eternal City at your leisure and get your bearings – how exciting!

Day 2| Rome in a day

Experience the magic of Rome with a full day to explore the Eternal City on your own terms. After breakfast at your hotel, wander through the ancient streets, admire iconic landmarks such as the Colosseum, Trevi fountain and the Spanish Steps, or immerse yourself in the art and history of the Vatican Museums and St. Peters Basilica. Enjoy leisurely moments in charming piazzas, sample authentic Italian cuisine or shop in stylish neighbourhoods. This flexible day allows you to discover Rome´s timeless beauty at a rhythm that suits you.

Day 3| Rome to Milan

After enjoying a final breakfast in Rome, head to Termini Station, the city's central hub, and board the high-speed train to Milano Centrale. As you travel north, watch the landscape change from Lazio's rolling hills and umbrella pines to Tuscany's vineyards and medieval hilltop towns.

Upon arrival at one of Europe's grandest railway stations, which boasts 1930s architecture and is a sight to behold in itself, make your own way to your hotel to check in. You will have the afternoon free to enjoy as you wish, whether that means wandering around the charming Brera district filled with boutiques and cafés, or strolling through the 15th-century Castello Sforzesco fortress.

Day 4| Milan, Lake Como and Bellagio

Start the day with breakfast at your hotel before meeting the group for the full-day excursion to Como and Bellagio at 08:15* at the corner of Largo Cairoli and Via Cusani. The excursion departs at 08:30. Nestled between the huge, snow-capped peaks of the Alps, which rise up from its shores, lies the fashionable lakeside town of Como. After spending time shopping and dining, you will enjoy a two-hour panoramic cruise on Lake Como.

Lake Como is the third largest lake in Europe, surrounded by stunning alpine scenery and beautiful villages famed for their high-quality silk production. As you cruise, admire the lakeside villas and keep an eye out for Villa d'Este at Cernobbio, a luxurious hotel set in tropical gardens. The mild Mediterranean climate ensures an abundance of exotic and rare plants thrive year-round.

After docking in Bellagio, one of the most famous towns on the lake, you can wander up the steep alleys and stop for coffee or gelato in one of the lively cafés housed in historic buildings. Spend some time here at your leisure before cruising back to Como. In the afternoon, return to the meeting point in order to make the transfer back to your hotel.

*From 17 November to 29 March, the meeting point time for the Como and Bellagio tour will be 8:45am.

Day 5| Milan

Have breakfast at your hotel before spending the day discovering the hidden gems and renowned landmarks of this cosmopolitan metropolis at your leisure. Admire the majestic Duomo di Milano, the world´s third-largest cathedral and then take a walk to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, then you can head towards Via Montenapoleone, one of the city's most elegant shopping streets. To relax, take a walk in the gardens of the Sempione Park or enjoy a coffee in one of the city's charming squares.

Day 6| Milan

Enjoy a final breakfast at your hotel in Milan, then make your own way onward or home at your leisure. Take a last moment to reflect on your journey and the unforgettable scenery and experiences of Italy before concluding your tour.
