Tierra del Fuego and King Penguin - Full-Day Tour

After an early morning pick up from your hotel, we will make our way to the Tres Puentes terminal to board the Crux Australis ferry, which will take us across the famous Strait of Magellan to the mythical island of Tierra del Fuego. After just over 2 hours of sailing, we arrive at "Bahia Chilota" and from there it is about 3 miles to Porvenir, the capital of the province of Tierra del Fuego. We will visit its square, its coastline, its small but interesting museum and the lookout of the city also.

Later on we will begin our trip to the King Penguin Park (entrance fee not included), located 70 miles east of the city of Porvenir. The trip takes around 1 hour bordering Bahia Inutil, otherwise known as Useless Bay. The park is a unique sighting place where it is possible to observe about 40 of these species at close range. After 1 hour we continue our journey, watching from the road, Estancia Josefina, one of the most important cattle ranches on the island.

We also get to visit Cerro Sombrero village. Finally, we cross the Strait of Magellan again through its narrowest part, Primera Angostura, which is just 20 minutes of sailing. Depending on hours of light, we can stop at Estancia San Gregorio, one of the oldest and most historical cattle ranches in the region. Then we will return to Punta Arenas.
