Everyone who has visited Greece has tasted at least once the famous “souvlaki.” Considered the national fast food and a trademark of Greek culture, souvlaki is a delicious combination of small pieces or slices of meat, and sometimes vegetables, grilled on a skewer.
Traditionally, it is eaten straight off the skewer while still hot, but nowadays it is more commonly served inside a rolled pita bread, accompanied by lemon, sauces (often tzatziki), and vegetables such as sliced tomato and onion—sometimes even with fried potatoes tucked inside.
The art of souvlaki can be experienced firsthand at the Mykonian Farm, where guests are transferred to the location and warmly welcomed by the farm’s superintendent. Visitors are then escorted to a specially arranged area of the farm, where they will witness and learn the secrets of making the best souvlaki in Mykonos.
The course includes:
You’ll then jump into a fun tzatziki competition, where you’ll try your hand at making the best sauce in the group. Don’t worry, we’ll guide you through it, and you might just surprise yourself!
After that, it’s time to grill the meat and bring everything together. You’ll wrap your own souvlaki, combining the freshly grilled ingredients with your homemade sauce and toppings, all tucked into warm pita bread.
With your creation complete, you’ll sit down to enjoy your handmade souvlaki, paired with a refreshing Greek salad and a cold beer—the perfect reward for your culinary efforts!
