Explore Mt. Fuji and Hakone - Full-Day Tour
Escape from the city of Tokyo and feel the wonderful nature around the World Heritage Site Mt. Fuji, Yamanashi and Hakone, Kanagawa.
We leave Shinjuku early morning and travel for around 2 hours to Mt.Fuji 5th Station (Subashiri, 2,000m above sea level). Mt.Fuji 5th Station is the second most popular and the second most developed of the four fifth stations on Mount Fuji. To. Then we will have a famous local Houtou lunch at the Fuji View Samurai Restaurant in Fuji Q Highland. Houtou is a typical local dish from Yamanashi. It is a simple dish of flat noodles kneaded with wheat flour and cooked in a miso soup with ingredients such as pumpkin, potatoes, mushrooms, seasonal vegetables and meat. It is said to have been used as a campaign meal by the warlord Shingen Takeda in ancient times.
After a delicious lunch, we’re off to Owaku-dani Valley in Hakone/Hakone Ropeway!
After, a short ride on the Hakone Ropeway, you will arrive at Owakudani Valley, which has magnificent scenery with its volcanic activity. You can buy “Kuro Tamago”, which is black-boiled eggs, cooked in a hot spring. Their shells have been blackened by sulphur produced from the valley. It is said that you will get your life expectancy longer for 7 years longer if you eat the black eggs.
Next, we will go on a Lake Ashi Cruise. Lake Ashi was formed in the caldera of Mt Hakone after the last eruption of it over 3000 years ago. The lake with Mt Fuji in the back is a symbol of Hakone.
Continues to the incredible Hakone Shrine. One of the most famous and beautiful shrines in the area is the Torii of Peace, which boasts an incredibly picturesque red torii gate on the water.
And now, it’s time to head back to Tokyo and return to the west exit of Shinjuku Station!
