Discover Cedars of Lebanon, Bcharre and Qozhaya - Full-Day Tour

A blue shiny sky this morning takes us to the village of Besharre in the North of the country. 100 minutes by car from Beirut. Here comes the village square, 15 minutes later up in the mountains rises the Cedars forest… A 2000-year-old cedar tree in the middle of multiple souvenir kiosks covers the main street! Looks gorgeous!

Let’s have a hike in the protected forest… “Cedrus Libani” (Cedar tree of Lebanon) is the symbol of Lebanon the land of the Cedars… We will tell you why, as well as much information, details, myths and beliefs as your Guide escorts you during this lovely day…

Our next stop is the Gebran Khalil Gebran Gallery. It is located in downtown Besharre. Who is Gebran Khalil Gebran? Do we still call him “the Prophet” his nickname? How many books he wrote and how many languages were translated to? Is his famous book still a best seller? And his paintings, what do you think of them? All this and much more inside this humble old monastery converted into a nice gallery half curved in a giant rocky mountain.

Minutes later we drive down deep the valley, yes deeper, and much deeper! The Kadisha Valley or the “Sacred Valley” as the locals call it. Breathtaking sceneries, wonderful views, water cascades (in spring) and many curved shapes in the surrounding mountains… Here come a 14th-century hermitage and monastery… Quiet observance is required.

Important
Variations of temperatures and unexpected weather conditions might occur at 2000 meters altitude and then down to 300 meters altitude in one day. A jacket and boots are indispensable (November/April).
