Explore Budapest in a Trabant! This is the ultimate sightseeing experience in a classic communist vehicle. There is no better way to see Budapest than with an original Trabant 601. Over 3 million of these amazing cars often called the “Paper-Jaguar” were made with features including: a 2-stroke engine, construction out of paper and plastic, 26 horsepower from a 600 cc displacement and acceleration in 21 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. There is a lot of affection for these quirky relics of the past that, although quite polluting, had the advantage of being simple to repair and being able to carry loads of up to 1 tonne on their small 600Kg frame.
This tour is fun, and if you’re looking for something different, a Trabant sure beats a tour bus. You will be transported back to the past communist era and a Hungary so different to today. If you dare, you may even be able to try driving a Trabant for which you must have a valid driving licence.
